LED Phototherapy

LED Phototherapy is a non-invasive medical treatment that utilizes specific wavelengths of light, typically blue or green, to treat various skin conditions, primarily neonatal jaundice. During LED phototherapy, the affected individual is exposed to the light either through a phototherapy lamp or a specialized light-emitting diode (LED) device. The light penetrates the skin and helps to break down bilirubin, a substance responsible for jaundice, into a form that can be easily eliminated by the body. This treatment is commonly used in neonatal care units to manage and reduce high levels of bilirubin in newborns, preventing the development of more severe complications associated with untreated jaundice.
